The Public Hearing for the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the Improvement and Development of Water Supply and Sanitation Services in Tehsil Rojhan was successfully conducted on 10 September 2026 at the Assistant Commissioner’s Office, Rojhan. The consultation provided an opportunity for local communities, government departments, and other stakeholders to discuss the proposed project, its potential environmental and social impacts, and proposed mitigation measures.

The hearing was attended by the Assistant Commissioner, Rojhan, Sardar Khizar Hussain Mazari, MPA PP-297 Rojhan, representatives of EPA Rajanpur, PRMSC Head Office team including *Mr. Shuaib Kabeer and Ms. Rameen, and representatives of the Agriculture, Education, Zilla Council (ZC), Health, and Rescue 1122 Departments, forest, police along with other relevant stakeholders. Community representatives from different Mouzas, including areas along the Punjab–Sindh and Punjab–Balochistan borders, actively participated, including female community members.

The Assistant Commissioner, Rojhan, appreciated the Government of Punjab’s efforts to improve public services and particularly acknowledged the successful completion and operation of the Umerkot Water Supply & Sanitation Project, appreciating the quality of work delivered by PRMSC. He emphasized community cooperation, protection of project infrastructure, and effective coordination with PRMSC for proper operation and maintenance.

Sardar Khizar Hussain Mazari, MPA PP-297 Rojhan, highlighted the Chief Minister Punjab’s vision for improved basic public services and appreciated PRMSC’s successful implementation of the Umerkot project. He also recognized the efforts of PRMSC  Tehsil Rojhan team for their commitment, coordination, and effective delivery of the project despite challenging security conditions and the difficult working environment in the Katcha region.

The successful Public Hearing marks an important milestone in the EIA and stakeholder engagement process for the Rojhan Water Supply and Sanitation Project. Continued engagement with local communities will be maintained to promote community ownership, proper operation and maintenance, hygiene, environmental protection, and sustainable water and sanitation services.

At the end of the event, an open forum for question answering were conducted to ensure inclusive development approach.
